Regulatory Authority (ERA) has conducted a detailed study of the power outages
in the distribution and transmission system of BPC and determined the
preliminary baseline for power reliability indices and transmission system
performance for the year 2023. This study also identified the primary root
causes for the power outage and outlined the measures to be taken by BPC to
reduce undesired outages in the power system. Further, to improve the power
reliability, the ERA established reliability indices benchmarks for the
Distribution Power Reliability and Transmission System Performance to be
