The Electricity Regulatory Authority would like to inform the Electricity Consumers, Licensees and Stakeholders that the Safety Code Regulation 2026 has been approved by the Commission. This initiative was undertaken to simplify and strengthen the regulatory framework governing electrical safety in the power sector, and to ensure its continued relevance in an increasingly modernized, decentralized, and technology-driven electricity system. The revised regulation incorporates updated safety requirements for renewable energy integration, bidirectional power flow, construction and commissioning activities, and consumer-side electrical installations, along with enhanced occupational health and safety practices. It also aligns regulatory requirements with current international standards and industry best practices to promote the highest standards of safety across the sector. The approved Safety Code Regualtion 2026 is now available on the ERA website and may be accessed for your compliance and kind information.
